I'll see 2+ weeks of making 0 on a caravan though. Sometimes they'll rake in 400-700/day (seen a peak of 950) for a bit and drop off. So pretty hit-and-miss on a daily basis, but I certainly make money. Though 1 caravan hit a bandit patch and finally lost a battle.

As for caravans they got quite complex code, but what I was able to dig out is that they are trying to keep budget of 5000 and that they are going to buy at most goods of one type for 1500.

do you mean if you can own a caravan under your name? yeah just hire a companion, go in a town to one of the merchants and tell him you want a caravan, then pay the 15K and have your dude in your party. from then on he will lead the caravan, if you are at war you shouldnt do that cause they get taken down fast, if you are not at war they ususally survive long enugh to make you a good plus.
