I have a 10 year old 1.6 diesel C-Max which has done 97,000 miles. Whilst driving the car on a long journey at the weekend the Engine System Fault message came up on the dashboard and I suffered a significant loss of power. The car particularly struggled to get up any hills!

2. Ford Model: S-Max. Posted April 18, 2011. Our S-Max is now into it's 4th year (Duratorq 2.0L DOHC CR TC Dsl 143PS, registered Nov 2007). It's had its problems, but deep down I love it! The problem is that since year 2 it has been failing to start first time. The symptoms are different to the previous posts I've read:
