Sadly a very occurrence with Ford's common rail setup, essentially you've used up nearly all the fuel in the rail and the pump isn't able to supply it fast enough. Assuming its been regularly serviced and the fuel filter is good then typically its caused by the injectors

I have recently purchased a 2003 Ford Mondeo Ghia 2.5 V6 auto from a local Ford main dealer. Overall I am happy with the vehicle, apart from the fact that the acceleration seems very sluggish on uphill stretches of road. On long climbs in particular, it feels as if the car is being held back for some reason. Given the power available, this is very disappointing. My wife's Volkswagen Lupo 1.0
