This game feels as if a controller was intended. Edit: After ditching my 360 controller and using my PS4 controller (which works great), I made some tweeks with my KB and mouse setting. KB and mouse is the way to go once you get used to it in this game, way better precision/control.
Go to steam main interface , click view, then settings, controller settings, and xbox or ps4 or whatever. Should work like a charm. One final thing if you don't want to use Big Picture interface in game for your Steam Overlay you need to go to your Steam settings In-Game tab, and uncheck Use the Big Picture Overlay when using a Steam Input enabled controller from the desktop.
Thank you. I do not expect any resolution for such an old game, but for anyone else who is experiencing this problem this is the steps I took to use my Playstation 4 Dualshock with Far Cry 5 through Steam. - Disable Steam's controller support so that it does not recognize that a controller is connected.
Climb up the rope - use this when you want to reach higher ledges. Ride down the rope - use this if you want to reach lower ledges in a safe way. Swing on the rope - use this when you want to reach further away ledges. In some cases you can also switch between neighboring handles. An example place like that is shown in the above picture.
2. The next most simple thing to check is just to see if the controller is working ok in the Windows settings > control panel> set up USB (or whatever) controller> (select your controller)>properties (I use bot Win 8.1 and Win 11) and see if it appears and the joystick are working as they should. ----. Yes, it does. Xbox 360 wired + wireless & Xbox One wired controllers will work perfectly, even if technically the game only has "Partial Controller Support" per Steam definition.

I've tried a few tricks like restarting uPlay, restarting my PC, restarting FC5, unplugging the controller, updating the drivers, plugging the controller in while playing and nothing is working. It's working in other Steam games, it's working in other uPlay games, but it's not working in FC5.
Problem with keys. :: Far Cry 5 Player Support. Problem with keys. Good evening, I have some problems with my game. When I play, sometimes the D key that is responsible for the player's right move doesn't work. I checked if it is installed by default in the settings installed und yeah, it is set to walk to the right. Only rebooting the game helps. wqewOkg.
