The Roller Beetle is a mount introduced with the Long Live the Lich release, an Episode 3 of Living World Season 4. It is the first new mount released since the launch of Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire. Roller beetle can accelerate to tremendous speeds with its Roll Out ability, making it the fastest land mount.
To help you explore those maps, you’ll also get access to a new, streamlined method to unlock your skyscale mount, plus new Masteries for flying mounts. The raptor mount will also be unlocked for owners of Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure , although you’ll still need Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire™ to train its associated Masteries.
On flat, relatively level ground, raptor will leave jackal in the dust. If you are moving up a hill though, jackal will take the lead. Raptors leap is trash uphill, which allows jackals natural speed to take over.

The Best Mount: Griffon. Griffon wins my vote for best all-round mount. It’s not as fast as Raptor, but it makes up for that speed by letting you fly over obstacles and enemy mobs. It can’t hover or fly as high as Skyscale, but it’s easier and cheaper to get.
Save it for last, unless you really want a 2-person mount with cannons. Griffon is an absolute blast once you get the hang of flying. It's far and away the fastest mount in the game, and you can pull off some really fun and fancy maneuvers in the process. Skyscale is arguably the "best" mount, simply by sheer practicality.

Not impossible but probably not trivial. It would make interactions between mentors/mentees better, especially if one is a FTP player. Perhaps a new mount specifically for multi passengers would work better. I've used a 2 player mount in another MMO. It worked but it didn't look pretty.You'd see the other player's character all over the place
The beatle is a widely used mount, especially in path of fire and lws4, which contain quite some desert-like maps. It is the fastest mount so it's definitely worth getting. My 2 main mounts are the skyscale and the beatle
